Necklace made out of a simple leather lace – thickness of 4 mm – combined with a geometrical sterling silver pendant jointed in the middle and completely decorated with typical Tuareg motifs.
Of Islamic origins, these peculiar designs are always characterized by essential lines and geometric shapes, often imbued with a symbolic value and a protective function.
The pendant measure h. 7.5 x l. 4.5 cm; on the back the engraving/signature of Silversmith.
Silver has always been the preferred metal by these people, for it was considered related to the Prophet. Gold, instead, was seen as bearer of bad luck, a belief still strongly felt especially among the people who live in remote areas.
Simple the clasp at the back of the necklace, with two silver elements attached to the leather.
