Old Earrings from the 30s/40s (1930s) coming from Swat valley, where the river of the same name flows, in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Peshawar as its capital.
These ‘ornament’ Earrings also called Muchley, important in size and precious for workmanship and material – certainly belonged to a girl/woman of high lineage – are made of silver almost completely gilded vermeil (they usually used 10k gold to make it), enriched by elements in glass paste and central decoration that draws a sun, probable reminiscence of ancient pre-Islamic cults or a result of neighboring India.
One of the two lacks the underlying finishing, possibly achievable in the goldsmith’s workshop.
Collectible Item – each one weighs 130 g
